American rosewood veneer flip-top card table, mid-19th century, the rectangular fold-over top of finely figured rosewood swiveling to reveal a shallow interior well and opening to a square baize-lined playing surface, raised on a turned baluster pedestal support over a quatreform plinth with scrolled carved feet. Green baize/felt playing surface with age patination and wear. Approx. 36 in. wide x 18 in. deep (closed), opening to 36 x 36 in., 30 in. high. In structurally sound, usable condition with expected wear for age: top with noticeable bow to one leaf, scattered scratches, surface marks and shrinkage lines, small veneer nicks and edge losses; mechanism functions but with minor play; baize/felt significantly faded and discolored with staining and wear; base with scuffs, abrasions and small chips to feet.
