Brown’s Self-Interpreting Bible, Blackie & Son, c. 1870s (Victorian family Bible, large folio)
Blackie & Son edition of Rev. John Brown’s celebrated annotated Bible, revised with notes by Rev. Henry Cooke and additions by Rev. J. L. Porter. Large folio with numerous steel-engraved plates (“Abraham Offering up Isaac,” “The Judgement of Solomon,” etc.), marbled edges, and raised-band spine. Approx. 21–22 x 14–15 x 4–5 in.
Condition: binding worn with losses to corners/joints; foxing/toning to some leaves; plates present; text sound.
