Circular brass box finely decorated in cloisonné enamels, the domed cover with a front-facing five-clawed dragon coiled among clouds and pursuing the flaming pearl against a pale blue ground, enclosed by a dense gilt scroll border. The sides with upright lappet panels and continuous cloud scrolls on a black ground, the interior richly enameled in turquoise. A well-executed example in the tradition of late Qing imperial dragon wares.

Condition: Very good condition with bright enamels and only light rubbing to gilded rims; no apparent chips or cracks.
