Collection of twenty-one small 19th-century engraved portraits, each presented in a narrow ebonised frame with gilt inner beading. The prints, finely worked in black on cream paper, depict various named historical sitters—predominantly ladies in early 19th-century dress with a few male figures—each identified in script in the lower margin. Most appear to be stipple or line engravings after contemporary painted portraits, likely issued as book or portfolio plates and subsequently framed en suite. Several retain remnants of old backing labels to the reverse. An attractive, period set for decorative or scholarly display.
