An English sterling silver central handle for a cake or sandwich stand, early–mid 20th century, of simple circular form with plain ring grip, turned tubular stem and flat circular boss drilled and threaded for attachment to a glass or china plate. Hallmarked to the outer edge of the ring with maker’s mark (indistinct), lion passant for sterling, UK assay office town mark and date letter, confirming .925 silver. Condition: Moderate tarnish and light surface wear consistent with age and use; ring very slightly out-of-round; threaded boss intact and functional. No monogram noted. A useful replacement handle for a sterling-mounted stand or for custom cake/sandwich plate projects. (Approx. length 14 cm; ring diameter 5.5 cm; gross weight 38.22 g sterling.)
