Oil on canvas, bust-length portrait of a lady in dark court dress with broad white ermine-trimmed collar, jeweled bow at the neck, bracelets and rings, and a large feather fan held at center, all set against a deep, nearly black ground. Painted in a rich, Old Master–inspired style with careful attention to the sitter’s features and costume, likely after a 17th-century European prototype. Presented in an ornate gilt-composition frame with molded and patterned borders and warm gold finish. Unsigned, 20th century, a decorative homage to Baroque portraiture.
