A generously proportioned upholstered armchair in the French Provincial or Louis XV revival style, likely produced in North America during the mid-20th century. The chair has a carved and finished wood frame featuring a shaped, arched crest rail with shell-form and scrollwork ornament, rolled arms, a serpentine seat rail, and cabriole legs. The upholstery is a high-pile, tufted floral velour or synthetic velvet in green and gold tones, with a reversible seat cushion and brass-coloured decorative tacks securing the trim. An excellent fit in traditional interiors or a statement piece in paired-down modern spaces. Moderate wear to the wood and compression in the upholstery are consistent with domestic use and age. Please note house tenant occassionally smoked. Dimensions: 38 x 36 x 32 in.
