Cast-brass low ritual stand, likely for puja or as a deity/platform stand, rectangular top supported on four sculptural legs, each formed as an openwork peacock with stylised head and long tail, rising from bell-shaped lotus bases. The thick, slightly dished rectangular top is finely engraved with concentric bands of scrolling foliage and geometric borders around a central circular medallion. Dark brown patina overall. Probably North or South India, mid–20th century, made in solid cast brass with hand-chased detailing, intended for supporting ritual objects, lamps or small icons, and now also suitable as a display stand. Condition: overall good, solid condition with honest age wear; surface with scattered small nicks, light scratches and casting imperfections, particularly along the underside and edges; patina uneven with areas of lighter brass showing on some high points; minor bending irregularities consistent with hand casting; stand sits essentially level and stable; no obvious cracks, breaks or repairs observed. Height approx. 5 3/4 in.; top approx. 7 1/2 in. x 5 1/2 in.
