Pair of French spelter figures after Auguste Moreau, titled Vendange and Danse des Blés, each mounted on a simulated marble circular base with brass title plaque “VENDANGE Par Aug. Moreau” and “DANSE des BLÉS Par Aug. Moreau”. The male figure modelled dancing with a garland of grapes, the female figure dancing with her skirt filled with wheat. Dark patinated finish with remnants of gilt highlights. Both figures signed in-cast on the base. Condition: structurally sound but with notable wear and losses to finish; scattered rubbing, oxidation and small casting flaws; the female figure lacking part of her raised hand (missing palm) and with some roughness at extremities; bases with small chips and wear to faux-marble finish. Approximate height 13 1/2 in.
